If you see someone posting AirPods or AirPods Pro or AirPods Max here on CL for a ridiculously low price like $100 (or less), I guarantee you it’s too good to be true. I know this because I got scammed myself. Someone emailed me and told me the same story.
If there is language on my the label that lacks punctuation or is just not quite right, grammatically, that’s a telltale sign. If there are “stickers/labels” attached to the packaging, that’s a telltale sign. If they blurred out the serial number in the ad, it’s because they don’t want you checking it against Apple’s database to confirm they’re FAKE.
They have gotten really good at making knockoffs of these things. They will have all the right accessories, they will connect to your phone, they will even say they are covered under AppleCare+ on your phone! But soon, they will stop working — usually one side first. The mics on them will sound like shit.
24 hours later, Apple will not even look at them, when you ask them why they don’t work. You’re just out the $$. I promise you this happened to me just a couple months ago. Don’t fall for the scam like I did.
