Happy Paws is a dog boutique, daycare and overnight boarding facility located in Tenleytown, DC. We are seeking a hard-working and reliable individual to join our energetic staff. This position is labor-intensive but highly rewarding for pet lovers. We are looking for applicants who take pride in their work and love dogs. There is a two week training process so only serious applicants please. We are also dedicated to positive reinforcement dog training. Qualities you MUST possess:
Punctuality (you MUST be on time for your shift)
Patience (a necessity for working with animals)
Initiative (ability to identify tasks that need to be done w/o constant supervision from management)
Diligence (earnest effort to accomplish tasks and constant, attentive supervision of the dogs)
• Maintaining clean areas for pets (vacuuming, mopping, washing dishes, sanitizing cages, etc.)
• Pet care taking (walking, supervising, feeding, petting, interacting, playing, etc)
• Noticing anything out of the ordinary and reporting it to the manager right away
• Professional manners when speaking with coworkers and clients
We are looking for a full time/long term employee who has open availability. You will need to start working immediately and your schedule will be subject to change. You must be able to work with large dogs and small dogs. All applicants must be available to work holidays.
It should be noted that the morning shift starts at 6:30am and on the weekends and the metro doesn't open until 7am.
Starting salary depends on experience.
Happy Paws has a zero-tolerance policy concerning pet neglect and abuse.
