Event photographer (February to May 2021) ((varied locations))

compensation: $300 to $350+ per day

The photography business has been hit as hard as anything by Covid, with lots of uncertainty about where work will come from -- here's an opportunity for a reliable schedule of work for you. And it can also be fun!

Looking for a reliable, creative and preferably experienced event photographer for the upcoming months of February through May (and potential additional work during June & July).

Your work would be primarily at competitive dance events held most weekends during those months, and in varied locations on the East Coast, with possible travel (expenses paid) to other regions of the U.S. If you enjoy travel and brief getaways to see other towns & cities, you'd be a good fit. All events are comfortably indoors, using venues like hotel ballrooms, auditoriums, theaters, etc.
You will be working for a well-established photo & video service that provides coverage for these events.
An average event runs from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon or evening. This is sometimes subject to be adjusted to Saturday/Sunday.

The key thing will be your ability to follow dance action on a performance stage -- especially if you've used your skills before in settings like this or even sports such as football or soccer. Photos range from wide angle of all participants to zoomed individual shots. In a typical 3-minute performance, you'd likely wind up with as many as 40 photos, maybe more depending on number of people on stage.
If using your own camera gear, you would be eligible for a bonus to compensate you for it's use. Preferably, you already own a good range of lenses -- at most events, you would be near the back of the room not very close to the stage. A monopod or tripod is recommended.

The competition season normally runs from February through May - and while 2020's season was disrupted by the shutdowns, current plans are for most companies producing these events to move forward (safely) with the 2021 schedule coming up. Among the safety guidelines, they will likely include a limit on the allowed audience sizes, etc. You would obviously be required to wear masks in buildings wherever required and observe all related rules.

**Also please be advised that a background check will be required to be considered for this work - you will be working in a very family oriented environment **

Tell us about yourself, and why you would be a good fit -- please also provide as much as you can of your portfolio we can review....show us what you can do. Thanks!
