HighRoad DC is looking for volunteers to join our work exchange program. Meet travelers, work in a communal setting and let the travels come to you!
HighRoad DC first opened back in 2016 as fully shared accommodations and has hosted travelers from all over the world ever since. With a small tight knit team, we go above and beyond for our guests to provide them with a one of a kind home away from home experience. We are all about community; coming together, building life-long friendships, and sharing knowledge of our great city of Washington, DC. We are undergoing some projects into 2021 and want YOU to be involved!
What are we looking for?
Critical thinkers! Problem solvers! People with a passion for..people! You will learn a lot about co-living / shared accommodations; what the day to day is like, how to check someone in, how to deal with sticky situations, the world of communal living and more. We are looking for someone who is committed to learning and going above and beyond for our guests.
Job duties include:
*Working at the front desk (answering emails, phone calls, checking guests in and out, assisting guests whenever needed, answering guest questions, solving issues as they arise at the desk, giving directions, and more)
*Light housekeeping (cleaning your own space, assisting housekeepers with flipping beds, laundry)
*Assisting managers and other team members when needed while on shift
*Shifts include: morning, evening, and possibly overnight.
*Commitment of at least 24 hours a week.
*Minimum commitment to live onsite for at least 3 months
*Comfortable with staying in a shared room (with other volunteer staff members)
*Must be 18+
*Must be authorized to work in the USA
