Antique chest 1800s, probably a steamer trunk for ocean passage. Exterior is 40 wide, 21 deep and 26 tall. Absolutely gorgeous hardware all in excellent condition with working latches and fully functional hinge to keep top in place when open. Inside a divided tray with original finish plus a dust cover to keep things tidy. Four built in wheels for easy moving. Trim is wood over metal over leather. Huge storage space inside, items pictured are not for sale. A bit of patina consistent with age for antique brass, no apparent rust. Lock sits in closed position as pictured but is unlocked, sadly no key remains. An amazing coffee table with storage for blankets or a toy box to disguise the inevitable piles of toys. One can only imagine the places it has been and stories it could tell.
