Benefits Administrator (Washington, DC)

compensation: $34.00 per hour plus applicable hourly health and welfare benefit.

Parker Tide is a veteran-owned, small business operating in DC. We serve as a value-added partner to the government. We are seeking a Benefits Administrator to work with one of our DC clients.

Period of Performance: One year and four option years.

Place of Performance: Washington, DC (telework during COVID; 2 days /week onsite.)

Hours of Operation: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (30 min. lunch), 40 hours / week Mon. – Fri.

Salary: $34.00 per hour plus applicable hourly health and welfare benefit.

Benefits/Retirement Administration Support
  • Assist the Benefits Team with benefits, work-life, and retirement programs (FEHB, FEGLI, EAP, TSP, and the Telework Program).
  • Engage the workforce and promote wellness programs.
  • Perform triage activities for incoming benefit inquiries.
  • Assist with open season, seminars, and special emphasis programs.
  • Counsel employees regarding their benefits.
  • Review and process benefit forms such as FEHB, FEGLI, TSP, etc.
  • Correspond with FEHB carriers, MetLife, OPM, and TSP on behalf of the employee.
  • Request military documents from DFAS, provide employees with deposit information.
  • Correspond with payroll regarding military deposits and other benefit related items.
  • Provide briefings for new hire orientation.
  • Coordinate logistics for work-life, benefits, and retirement programs.
  • Maintain records in benefits-related information systems (e-Comp, FHR Navigator, FPPS.)
  • Correspond with various agencies to obtain information to compile service history for retirement purposes.
  • Ability to calculate redeposit service, FICA, and military deposits.
  • Maintain complete records of all activities and actions.

  • High School Graduate
  • 3 years providing advice and information on Federal employee benefits, to include retirement, health insurance, and life insurance.
  • 3 years preparing retirement estimates via automated retirement calculation (Fed-HR).
  • 3 years calculating service computation dates for retirement, leave, and RIF.
  • 3 years preparing retirement packages for submission to OPM.
  • 3 years entering benefits documents into the Federal Personnel Payroll System (FPPS).
  • 3 years entering benefits elections (health and life) into automated personnel / payroll system.
