Due to strong growth, we have a part-time (20-24 hours per week) Brand Ambassador position covering locations in Maryland, Virginia and DC, with travel within a 50-100 mile radius. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Our Brand Ambassadors play a critical role in helping consumers learn about and try our delicious products. Brand Ambassadors conduct in-store tastings of our products (in-store demos) where consumers can experience our amazing line of crackers, including gluten-free products. They bring a personal touch and build professional relationships with our valued retail grocery customers, and they take pride in achieving and exceeding sales goals.
This position requires prior work experience as a Brand Ambassador, Product Demonstrator, or related role, preferably with a consumer packaged goods products (CPG) company. An outgoing personality, passion for our products, and the ability to build strong relationships with customers who carry our products is a must in this high-visibility role.
-Schedule, coordinate logistics and schedules, and conduct tasting events at assigned venues, which include in-store demos, food shows, events, store checks, etc.
-Partner with in-store management team(s) to ensure events are properly communicated and scheduled in advance, products are well- stocked, and the event is set up for success.
-Visit assigned customers to ensure they have adequate stock on hand, in presentable condition.
-Communicate real-time information and insights to the sales and marketing teams regarding activities in the marketplace, e.g., competition, promotions, quality levels, reactions from consumers, etc.
-Submit timely and complete preparation of Demo Execution Reports.
-Build strong relationships and credibility with store operations teams by consistently providing great service.
-Identify and solve store-level issues to ensure superior merchandising and execution of our tasting/demonstration events.
-Engage consumers by handing out coupons, bring visibility to our products and provide professional representation of our brand.
-Monitor and report competitors' pricing, promotions, displays and other activities to help MBC align promotional and in-store activities to the competitive environment.
-Build rapport with store-level personnel/operations team to secure favorable merchandising/off-shelf displays.
-Sell in incremental displays/space/position prior to promotions in accounts where relationships have been built.
-Audit store-level execution, including:
-Stock shelves and build displays
-Ensure MBC's products are on the shelves, properly rotated and organized
-Organize back room inventory
-Ensure Point of Sale (POS) material is on shelves and displays
-This position works 20-24 hours per week, which includes travel time to and from demos, which are typically scheduled Wednesday through Saturday, and sometimes on Sundays:
-A typical demo is about 3 - 5 hours long (including setup, breakdown)
-Demo schedules vary by customer, and are based on store traffic; some evenings will be required
-Events are usually 8 - 10 hours, and are usually 1 - 2 days
The ability to be a "real-time" problem solver is very important in this role, which means that issues are viewed as opportunities to demonstrate resourcefulness and creativity, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a positive attitude. Learns what works and what doesn't, and positively communicate solutions to improve processes and outcomes ("I have some ideas that will make this easier . . . " - and the glass is always at least 7/8 full.)

-To be considered for this position, you must be able to frequently travel by subway, train and car between customer locations throughout the assigned territory and all the surrounding regions.
-A valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and completion of a complete background check (including DMV) is required.
-High School Diploma, GRE, or equivalent experience; preference will be given to candidates with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree
-Prior experience in customer service roles, preferably conducting demonstrations for food products in grocery and club stores
-Experience in food CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) strongly preferred
-Must be able to pass on-line course for ServSafe Food Handler Certificate (Company-paid)
-Available to work some weekends and travel frequently by car; some travel by plane or train may also be required
-Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, drive for long periods of time
-Assemble and disassemble demo materials and fixtures, etc.
-Hourly rate, based on experience
