Marketing and Social Media Assistant

Hey you! Want to be part of a dynamic team in one of DCs fastest growing industries? The Marketing and Social Media Assistant is part assistant, part administrative work, part designer, part anything else! They will report directly to the Marketing Director and will support the maintenance and campaigns that generate brand engagement and drive sales. It helps if you’re tapped into any local art and music scenes, hospitality industry, social media, etc. This is a 40 hour a week job with flexible working hours both on and off site. A car is required as this job frequently involves tasks and errands throughout the city and local areas.

The Assistant will be responsible for a variety of short and long term tasks, so self management skills are a must! Tasks will range from facilitating marketing materials, taking product photos, event support, running errands, and more. We need quick and concise work with conscious turnaround times and solutions to problems. We’re looking for someone with a can-do attitude with problem solving skills and new innovative ideas for our rapidly growing businesses. The right candidate will be a skilled writer with an attention to detail with a firm grasp on relevant applications like Drive and Instagram. You will be tasked with many types of writing including for social media and e-mail communication both for professional and marketing purposes. You have a strong eye for design as you will have input on marketing materials from taking product or lifestyle photos to digital graphics.

Required skills:
Must have a vehicle and valid drivers license
Basic understanding of influencer marketing and social media do and don'ts
Basic research skills and excellent time management
Independent worker who can execute ideas and projects in a timely manner and who needs minimal reminders or supervision
Extremely knowledgeable of the features of all top social media platforms
Ability to assist designing appealing and professional social media posts, event flyers, and newsletters
Advanced knowledge of online tools and software including Google Drive
A team player who is proactive, flexible, results-oriented, and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assist with administrative support for the Marketing Director
Assist executing social media campaigns for different products, services, and events
Assist in managing social media pages and groups for the company and its various entities
Assist in managing the company’s newsletter
