Soundwise, it is egregiously dynamic in all aspects while have a mellow, rounded and decadent tone. The bass is powerful, warm and thrilling. The midrange is melodic, engaging and precise. The highs are velvety and smooth. Extremely consistent tone wise throughout and at the break points. Voicing is really dialed in. The action leans on the heavy side in a good way. 50-55 grams. The key dip is slightly below standard to really push the dynamics but within range. The keybed is articulate and consistent. The letoff and dynamic soft is precise. Dampers all are consistent with no inconsistencies. Trap work is flawless and dead quiet. These A2 over strings at Steinways Golden Era are really the best piano you can get beyond a bigger case. Doesn’t get too much better than this. If you’re looking for an instrument that you demand the best, this is pretty much it. It’s also a great investment as this piano really hasn’t depreciated one bit since it was purchased refurbished from the dealer. Located in Richmond Virginia.
