Fender Muddy Waters Custom Shop USA Master built Telecaster, 1 of 100. $11500.00
From Fender:
The Muddy Waters Tribute Tele is an exact replica of the late ’50s Telecaster that was Muddy’s signature guitar for more than 30 years. Now hanging in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, Muddy’s Tele is as distinctive as the man himself, but also as simple and direct. The emphasis here is squarely on tone and vibe. The authentic specs give you the tone; the exact replication of 40 years of wear and tear give you the vibe.
To recreate this classic artist’s classic axe, Custom Shop R&D man George Blanda and John Cruz flew out to Cleveland and, with the permission of the Hall of Fame, took rulers, calipers and gauges to Muddy’s Tele.
Every ding, scratch and eccentricity, even the amp knobs, has been faithfully recreated by the people who craft our popular Relic guitars. But don’t just hang it on the wall. With its girthy neck and its classic pickups and electronics, this Tele’s tone and feel give you all the legendary mojo the name Muddy Waters implies.
The beautiful candy apple red nitro finish has magnificent checking which has been painstakingly recreated. All of the hardware has been aged to match the original. The neck as well is a perfect recreation, from the flamed attributes on the back to the patina and fretware of the frets themselves.
MOJO MAN ACCESSORY KIT
As a premium bonus, each Muddy Waters Tribute Tele comes with an accessory kit that will remind you what the Mojo man was all about. The Mojo Accessory Kit includes slide, capo, fingerpicks, thumb-pick and Muddy Waters: The Lost Tapes CD
This is a rare and remarkable guitar. Made in 2000, number 7X of only 100 ever hand crafted by master builder John Cruz and Jason Smith. These guitars represent Fender’s first at an absolute detail for detail replica of a famous artist’s guitar. The craftsmanship, care and time which went into these builds cannot be overstated. Every conceivable chip, ding, wear mark, water decal aging, hardware patina, rust, fret wear…no stone was left unturned. This guitar is a true clone of the legendary Telecaster known as ‘The Hoss’.
This was the first “artist run” of guitars out the Custom Shop. Fender Vintage style guitar strap, cable, lightly aged ashtray cover, polish cloth and original Fender manual and sticker. Fender certificate of Authenticity dated and signed by Mike Eldred, Fender’s Custom Shop manager.
