FieldWorks is hiring Canvass Directors and Deputy Directors to run our field offices across the country. See the country, register voters, and fight for social justice!

Who We Are
FieldWorks helps progressive organizations, advocacy groups, and members of the Democratic family run big field campaigns fast. Led by experienced national and international strategists with their hearts in grassroots organizing, FieldWorks creates campaigns that combine innovative grassroots strategies, the newest online and communication technologies, and time-tested tactics with one thing in mind: achieving big wins for our progressive clients. We've worked with groups like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, the Environmental Defense Action Fund and Mi Familia Vota.

The Job:
Canvass Directors are vital to our campaigns. They hire our field staff and teach them to have effective conversations with voters. They develop team leaders in the office and provide ongoing training for everyone on the team. They work with a program manager to create goals for the office and manage and motivate their people to sail past those goals. They handle the logistics of running a campaign office, from checking payroll reports to ordering pizza for the crew. And most importantly, they create inclusive and cohesive teams that people love being a part of.

Who You Are:
We're looking for candidates with all levels of experience. We'll provide you with initial and ongoing training so you'll know everything to do the job. Experience as a director on at least one electoral campaign is a plus, but we'd also love to talk to team leaders, seasoned volunteers, retail shift managers, and people who are passionate about politics and just looking for a way into the game. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communications skills and a love of people.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated recruiting skills, or just a knack for connecting with strangers.
  • Proven problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • A talent for building teams and motivating others.
  • Outstanding work ethic and a proactive mindset.
  • The ability to go where the fight is and relocate to a new city.
  • A valid driver's license.

Classification, Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time, exempt position. The salary for this position is $1050-$1155/week, based on experience, with a benefits package that includes paid vacation, sick time, health insurance and life insurance. Directors who relocate receive airfare, rental car and a housing stipend.
