Trump was elected twice on a campaign of "America first." It is hardly America first to meddle into other sovereign countries' personal affairs. To argue that drug dealers threaten American citizens is disingenuous unless you are a substance abuser. They are just (mostly) men in impossible situations trying to make a buck. Good little capitalists, one could argue, offering a commodity there is clearly a market for.
America has a long and enduring history of meddling into other nation's affairs, up to and including regime change for purely self-serving reasons. I'm pretty sure the good citizens of these countries might well say (paraphrasing) "Let's go after these [tyrants seeking a coup] where they live. With an international strike force. There must be no safe haven for these [rebellious insurgents,] and they must know it." I also would bet my 2026 income in total; you would NOT be happy when they began blowing yachts out of the water at the Capital Yacht Club.
