Historic Preservation Company Seeks Residential Estimator
Renaissance Development is a Washington, DC-based construction company that specializes in tuckpointing: the restoration of historic brick buildings using traditional methods and materials. Our efforts not only return these buildings to their original appearance; they also ensure their structural integrity for decades to come.
During the past sixteen years, the company has completed hundreds of projects in DC neighborhoods including Capitol Hill, Shaw, LeDroit Park, Dupont Circle, Logan Circle, Woodley Park, Glover Park, Georgetown, Adams Morgan, Kalorama, and Columbia Heights. Renaissance Development also works in Old Town Alexandria, one of Virginia's largest historic districts.
Dr. Christina K. Wilson, founder and president of Renaissance Development, holds a doctorate in architectural history from the University of Virginia. After a distinguished career in adult education--teaching college level courses and developing museum education programs--Dr. Wilson founded Renaissance Development in 2004.
Dr. Wilson's extensive knowledge of historic buildings, combined with the meticulous efforts of the company's skilled artisans, has made Renaissance Development the Washington Metropolitan Region's preeminent company in masonry restoration.
Renaissance Development is seeking to build a team of talented, outgoing individuals who will be responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with new clients. This team will meet personally with clients and prepare project scope of work/proposals. Must have own transportation, some construction knowledge, detail-oriented, proficient computer skills (Internet and emails, Microsoft Office), sales background is a plus.
Duties to include but are not limited to:
- Field work and site visits with potential and current clients
- Preparing proposals for tuckpointing/masonry restoration projects
- Follow up with potential and current clients
- Communicate with subcontractors and team members regarding new and current projects
- 1+ years' experience in construction, sales background or estimating a plus
- Must have your own reliable transportation, driver license and insurance
Position is available for immediate hire and approx. 25 hours weekly. Training will be provided.
Compensation and bonus structure to be determined based on applicant’s education and experience
