I am currently a teacher for Alexandria City Public Schools, but due to life events I am leaving my district to pursue other interests. Most recently, I was teaching students in elementary school with intellectual disabilities resulting in a deep understanding of elementary school curriculum and standards. Additionally, I was a tutor for students in 3rd through 5th grade to support reading and math instruction. I have extensive experience providing research-based interventions including OG, Fundamentals of Literacy Instruction, and direct instruction which I can apply to both reading and math curriculums. At the conclusion of the 2019-2020 School Year, I assisted in the development of elementary school curriculums which were administered to ACPS students for their extended learning experiences. While teaching in Loudoun County Public Schools, I received Congressional recognition for my excellence in teaching students with special needs in middle school. During this time, I also volunteered my time to co-lead an after school leadership and inclusion club.
