We are a small start-up lifestyle media company that is building a unique platform for Black, Indigenous, Multicultural, Women of Color (BIMWOC). A space created for us and by us that celebrates and amplifies our emerging and existing voices.
Our vision is to provide thought-provoking, authentic, unapologetic, informative, and inspiring stories that speak to our multifaceted life experiences and perspectives. Topics will span pop culture, the arts, entertainment, relationships, self-care, race, tech, politics, health, and current news.
As a startup-up we are self-funded and therefore we don’t have a budget to pay writers yet but that will be the goal as the site grows. We are looking for interns and new writers looking to build their portfolio and experienced writers whose voices may not be welcomed or celebrated elsewhere. All articles range between 500-2000 words and will include a byline, bio, and link back to your blog/site and social media platforms.
If interested, please send a few paragraphs or outline of your pitch with links to previously published clips if you have them. Please copy and paste the pitch into the body of the email or include a link to a google doc for review. We will accept previously written articles/reprints from other websites/publications, provided you have approval. We are not interested in fiction or poetry. We will review/consider personal essays, illustrations, photography, and video submissions on a case by case basis.
