Student Journalists (Online) (Washington)

compensation: $5 per article
employment type: employee's choice
telecommuting ok

Are you bored? Would you like to keep your writing and journalism skills active during this time of quarantine and self-isolation? We are seeking student journalists to contribute articles to "The Nahmias Cipher Report." This is an online opportunity and does not require any on-site work. The Report has grown significantly over the years using a unique model of student journalists.

The online publication has a substantial international presence with over 293K Facebook followers. Our publication covers a wide range of topics with a focus on human rights, foreign affairs and politics, science news, climate change, sustainable living, and other environmental issues, as well as women's and children's rights.

The Nahmias Cipher Report provides journalists with the opportunity to develop their writing portfolio. The online publication has grown significantly over the years using this unique model of outstanding student journalists who have worked as interns because they recognize the value of the exposure this opportunity provides. Previous interns have gone on to work in their respective fields using their writings as an example of their skills and abilities.

As Editor-in-Chief, I have personally written recommendations for student journalists which have helped interns secure permanent jobs or apply for advanced degrees. I will provide recommendations for all student journalists. You will report to either myself or the associate editor. Articles must be written in a timely manner to stay in tune with the media cycle.
