Seeking an Audit Manager to play a key role for growth in our federal contracting division of an advisory and assurance small firm. Working across all industries, you’ll develop your career by communicating creative, strategic goals both internally and externally and supervising a diverse team of professionals. It’s all about listening to and understanding clients, associates, members and parter to give them a truly exceptional experience in a field where there really are no off-the-shelf recommendations and integrity and independence are essential to service delivery.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, this position will be allowed to temporarily work remotely except for mandated customer and practice management meetings and specified fieldwork activities.
-Position require active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other professional certification as CGFM, CIA, CGMA, CFE license
-Ability to pass Federal clearance requirements including credit check.
The nature of this role means no two projects will be the same. That means you’ll need to think on your feet and challenge existing practices to develop answers to complex issues. You’ll also be collaborating with colleagues and engagement teams across multiple service lines, so we’ll look to you to build relationships and identify opportunities for our clients to benefit from our knowledge in other areas. Regular travel will be required as you will be meeting with key clients in both public and commercial industries.
Critical Skills and Experience
*Consulting with clients on complex operational and internal control issues
*Participating in assurance, compilations and other advisory engagements.
*Collaborating with practice management and clients to influence strategy, balancing risk and client expectations
*Ensuring Engagement teams thoroughly understands our clients’ unique needs, ambitions and expectations and teams adheres to audit plans.
*Building relationships with colleagues across multiple service lines to provide seamless integrated service
*Managing performance and identifying opportunities to improve our services and processes and increase sales for both professional and personal growth.
-A bachelor's degree, CPA certification and 5 to 8 years work experience as an auditor/accountant in a public accounting firm or federal financial management environment
-Strong technical writing skills and advanced risk management knowledge
-A deep understanding of the Federal contracting marketplace, as well as commonly used terminology, processes and tools
-Knowledge of OMB, GAO and other AICPA auditing guidance applicable to regulatory agencies.
-Prior auditing and accounting experience with Federal agencies.
-A proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues
-The confidence to research and resolve emerging client issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
-Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal security clearance and commitment to public engagements
-Demonstrated strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with sound judgment
-Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm's ethics requirements
-Must be able to work independently and/or with an engagement team in adherence to engagement practices
