Bookkeeper/Office Coordinator (Silver Spring)

The National Council for the Traditional Arts is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Bookkeeper/Office Coordinator. This position is part-time (24 hours per week), with the opportunity to expand to full-time in the coming year.

Qualifications: Associates degree in accounting or equivalent course work. Solid understanding of financial accounting methods and a relevant working knowledge of GAAP with 5-7 years nonprofit experience. Experience with Excel, Word, and Quickbooks online in a MAC environment required. Federal grant reporting and Filemaker Pro experience a plus. Ability to maintain digital and hard copy files and maintain office supplies and equipment required. Strong analytics and attention to details a must. Must be a team player with an upbeat collaborative attitude.

Duties. Accounts payable and contract analysis. A/R and invoicing. GL account reconciliation. Assist in preparing monthly financial statements on an accrual basis. Reconcile all credit card accounts monthly. Review budget versus actual monthly providing variance report to management. HR support. Filing. Order supplies and service calls when needed. Assist Finance Director and Executive Director with special projects as required.
