A striking Victorian-era flat-top steamer trunk in original unrestored condition, featuring oak wood slats, canvas-covered body, ornate cast iron and brass hardware, original leather straps, and decorative tack trim. The interior retains its period patterned paper lining in remarkably good shape. A brass name plate on the exterior reads “N. Harlan Slack,” adding a wonderful personal provenance. The flat-top design was built for stacking during train and steamship travel — a hallmark of the late 19th to early 20th century. All hardware appears intact including the original center latch, side hasps, and corner protectors.
