Underwood No 5. Typewriter with serial number 1202775. Was made in May, 1919.
Needs clean up but in good condition for its age. All keys are labels and move. The carriage moves well. The ribbon is old so can’t test quality but does move. Made of steel and very heavy. All writhing in typewriter and keys are legible. See photos as they are part of description.

The Underwood Model 5, introduced in 1899, became the ubiquitous office machine and set the standard for typewriters for decades.
It was considered the first "modern" typewriter because it brought together key design elements like a four-row QWERTY keyboard and front-striking typebars that allowed visible typing.
