I have a lovely antique Princess double bed. Its original name for the style was "Dauphine" like the French royalty.
Its head and footboards curve beautifully. They're adorned with delicate appliques.
I picked it up to refinish, but it turns out to be too big for my room! So sad. The footboard is partially stripped (the drippy looking stuff is dried Citrus Strip, a nontoxic, environmentally safe stripper) and ready for a light smoothing and paint. Create a bed you or your daughter will love forever.
Fits a full-sized mattress.
