Extra Large [54 seat tube center to top/59 top tube center to center] /XL Bob Brown frame dark green 29er / 700c single speed mountain bike with paint-matched solid and suspension forks, horizontal rear dropouts and disc brakes. The frame comes apart with a small dedicated S & S wrench [not included but readily available for sale] for packing into a car hatch or trunk or appropriately sized suitcase/travel case [but no case is included]. The drive side rear dropout comes apart to enable a belt-drive setup.
I was told that the frame builder Bob Brown made this for himself to race with, using an internal gear Rohloff hub. But the rear drive-side dropout does have a derailleur hanger, so the bike could easily be converted to be used as a derailleur bike. A fairly lightweight bike for its XL size, especially in its single speed configuration. Standard 135mm rear frame spacing between dropouts.
Approximately 34 inch standover at the mid-point of the standing top tube. I wear 32 inch inseam pants and am perfectly comfortable with this frame size.
I am not the original owner.
Comfortable upright riding position, but of course there are any number of changes that could be made to the stem and/or handlebar
Good condition, with chips in the paint, though no dents. Bontrager rims, originally set up to run tubeless, but currently with fat tires and tubes. The frame has braze-ons for rear linear pull brakes in addition to the rear disc brake mount. Both forks are disc only.
The suspension fork has the model name/number ECC5 on it, which seems to be a Marzocchi model.
If memory serves, I recall being informed that the rigid fork shown on the bike in the photos was a Walt Works, but that may be incorrect.
Saddle and pedals not included. The price is firm. Cash only.
The bike is located in the Fairplay area of Washington County, Maryland, about 60 miles or 60 minutes from downtown Rockville, Md.
