The Surprise Book by Nell L. McElhone, pictures by Albertine Randall Wheelan, Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1901. Binding condition is poor, a few pages foxed, black and white illustrations. This is an interesting antique children's book, but NOT appropriate for children now, because of the racist language and illustrations in some portions. AbeBooks has a listing for one in good condition for $600. 12 and a half inches by 8 inches. Lots of illustrations, alternating with text.
