PrepMatters is the premier source in the Washington metro area for one-on-one test preparation, tutoring and educational planning. The Bethesda office is looking for a reliable and highly organized professional to join our team as a full-time (40 hours a week) educational planning associate. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30/9:00 a.m. to 5:00/5:30 p.m. (with 30 minutes for lunch). The office is four blocks from the Bethesda metro stop. The position starts immediately.
The position: Working in concert with the managing associate, the educational planning associate provides administrative and client liaison support for our professional educational counselors, who guide students and their parents through the complicated and sometimes stressful college planning and application process. No two days are the same, but every day will have a mix of fielding questions on services, scheduling appointments, and making certain that every detail of the client records are accurate and complete.
You: The ideal candidate will have a college degree, the ability to manage a fast-paced environment in a professional manner, and an interest in working with educated and successful clients. Professional experience in school admissions or educational placement is highly desired, although lack of such experience can be overcome by a demonstrated interest in learning about the placements and admissions process. Excellence in communication--poise in client engagement, the ability to listen well, and a demonstrated skill in verbal expression--is required to support the core activities of the educational planning associate. A strong command of technology and Microsoft Office, as well as a polished telephone manner, are required. PrepMatters wants every client to receive personal, excellent service -- delivered with a bit of sparkle!
Compensation: $18/hour/DOE. We're looking for commitment to excellence and seasoned experience! The position is full-time, 3-month temporary, with the possibility to convert to permanent full-time with benefits (medical, prescription, vision, dental, 20 days paid time off, plus 9 paid holidays).
To apply: To be considered for this position, please submit a resume and cover letter to the email above. Please specify "Educational Planning Associate" in the subject line. Please include a paragraph in your cover letter describing why you would be a good addition to the PrepMatters team. Due to the high volume of emails that we receive, we regret that we are unable to respond personally to each application. All applicants selected for further consideration will be notified by phone. No phone calls, please. PrepMatters is an equal opportunity employer.
