Job Overview
Sitting on the west end of the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve- Song Dog Farm is a family owned and operated distillery dedicated to making memorable experiences and elevated spirits that highlight Maryland’s flavors and community.
To further its mission and promote its core values, Song Dog Farm Distillery is actively seeking motivated, experienced, and passionate bar staff to join its tasting room team and promote its history, vision, and spirits. Both full and part-time positions are available. Ideal candidates would not only build cocktails, entertain and discuss our products with tasting room clients but would also exhibit an enthusiastic passion about local terroir, the environment and community. Additional responsibilities would include maintaining the tasting room's standards while educating guests. A top candidate would also be excited and driven to learn more about the industry while cooperatively working with a team of similarly passionate and dedicated individuals to help enhance our distillery and its overall operation.
The job does require weekend and occasional holiday work. The distillery will occasionally offer the opportunity for off-site work and commission based opportunities

Duties:
Assist with food and beverage preparation and ensure all items are ready for service in a timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room and adhering to food safety standards.
Support staff by restocking supplies and preparing table setups as needed.
Handle food items safely and efficiently, following proper food handling procedures.
Collaborate with Distillery and BOH staff to ensure smooth operations during peak service times.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any inquiries or concerns related to the tasting room and lawn
Assist in hosting events, ensuring all dietary needs are met and that presentations are up to standard.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to hospitality and food safety.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in roles such as bar tender, bar manager, and wait staff
Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating a positive tasting room experience for guests.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Experience in a fine dining or cocktail bar atmosphere is encouraged
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
TIPS and Servsafe certificate holders are encouraged to apply
able to work on a farm environment safely (animals on-site and open to weather)
