This is a delightful pair of vintage Italian arm chairs are designed in the Directoire style. The chairs feature carved and pierced solid wood frames that are newly lacquered in Farrow & Ball Hague Blue. The sprung seats and back are upholstered in the original off-white leather with nail head trim. The leather backs are embellished with the original hand painted crests of arms in gold and blue. The chairs have beautifully scrolled arms and fluted Italian provincial style legs topped with carved rosettes.
The circa 1950s arm chairs are in very good vintage condition with wear commensurate with age. The wood frames are sturdy and solid. The lacquer finish is newly applied. Some wear on the original leather seats, including scuffs and cracking, but they show well. Please see photos for more details about condition.
Each chair measures 37.5" tall, 23" wide, and 22" deep with a seat height of 18.5 inches and arm height of 27 inches.
