This is a handsome pair of vintage Korean storage cabinets that can stack to form a dresser or separated into two pieces that can serve as nightstands, end tables, or even benches. The cabinets are sturdy enough to sit on and are an appropriate height for a bench. These would be stunning benches lining a long entry way to hold shoes, gloves, keys, etc.
The cabinets are made of dark stained solid wood that frame decorative panels of elm stained a reddish brown to highlight the beautiful grain of the wood. The cabinets are accented with ornate brass campaign style brass fittings, including corner brackets, shaped hinges and lock plates, and bat shaped drawer pulls. The cabinets are elevated on short legs united by shaped wood aprons on three sides. These pieces were imported from South Korea.
The 20th century cabinets are both sturdy and beautiful. One cabinet has fully functioning drawers and doors. The other has one broken door hinge and one drawer missing the side and back panels. There are scratches on the tops and bases from normal wear. Please see photos for more details about condition.
Each cabinet measures 39.75" wide, 13.25" deep, and 18.75" tall. When stacked, the cabinets measure 37.5 inches tall.
