This is a vintage French country style cabinet by Hooker Furniture from its Seven Seas collection. The cabinet measures 34.5” wide, 14” deep, and 34” tall. The small size, especially its shallow depth, makes a perfect console table for narrow entry ways or hallways. It can also be used as a small server in a dining area or a mini bar in a living room.
The cabinet is very heavy and well made. It has a shaped parquet top over a single drawer and 2 doors that open up to reveal a storage space with one adjustable shelf. The intentionally distressed painted finish is done in the French country style with decorative painted scrolls and floral motifs. The Hooker label is missing, but it is very recognizable from the manufacturer’s Seven Seas line of furnishings.
The late 20th century era cabinet is in very good vintage condition. The cabinet is very sturdy, and the painted finish looks great. Any knicks or scratches in the finish blends in with the rustic European vibe of the piece. Inside the cabinet, there are red rings of what looks like spilled grenadine. Please see photos for more details about the condition of the cabinet.
