This stunning four-panel Japanese folding screen (byōbu) features a classic nature composition painted on a warm gold ground. The scene unfolds across all four panels: a sweeping pine tree dominates the composition, its gnarled trunk and layered canopy rendered with fine brushwork. In the distance, the unmistakable silhouette of Mount Fuji rises above a mist-covered landscape. Along the water’s edge, white peonies and a diving blue bird add elegant detail, while the right panels burst with vibrant chrysanthemums in white, yellow, blue, and red surrounding a colorful golden pheasant.

The reverse side features a traditional Japanese shippo (七宝) geometric pattern in silver and grey. Framed in lacquered black wood with decorative brocade borders.

Artist’s seal signature visible in the lower right panel. A sophisticated statement piece for any interior.
