Scion Staffing (www.scionstaffing.com) is conducting the search for our client’s incoming WIOA Program Director. This full time, onsite position is for immediate hire and will split time between offices in Germantown and Wheaton, Maryland.
Working under contract with local, state and federal agencies, our client has served thousands of companies and helped even more people to find jobs and embark on new career paths.
Reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Executive Vice President, this role manages a team of over 20 individuals and plays an integral role in supporting existing initiatives under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Additionally, the Program Director also ensures effective implementation of relative programs and policies.
-Motivate, lead, inspire, and guide the vision of success for our client’s WIOA program.
-Be committed and passionate about the field of workforce development!
-Oversee and champion day to day activities of a team of 20+ so they may achieve program goals including enrollment, training and maximized employment within the community.
-Communicates clearly with team, partners and organizational leadership verbally and in writing.
-Establish deadlines and drive the timeliness of decision-making to ensure deadlines are met and goals are achieved!
-Effectively interact with the Staff and Service Provider to ensure effectiveness of operations under WIOA.
-Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive communication plan.
-Manage weekly and monthly program reporting of system wide activities, ensuring policy, data entry, and filing requirements are met for audit/compliance purposes.
-Champion performance improvement projects which focus on improving customer service and system efficiency.
-Maintain confidentiality of personal client information.
-Ensure the system is poised to accomplish all negotiated objectives and established needs- workforce development matters and a functional system is essential to creating positive connections!
-Previous WIOA Program Manager or WIOA Program Director experience in recruitment or workforce development is required.
-RESULTS DRIVEN: you are passionate and also determined when it comes to setting goals and meeting objectives.
-Experience with WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) programs is required.
-Existing knowledge of workforce policies and procedures.
-Master’s degree preferred in business administration, operations management, management science, social services, organizational development, communications, or a closely related field.
-Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to thrive in environments with multiple stakeholders, frequent change, and diverse objectives.
-Experience managing large scale projects and driving change initiatives, including efforts requiring process mapping, design and rollout of new operating procedures.
-Ability to prioritize and handle competing tasks.
-Excellent strategic thinking, operations, quantitative, communications and interpersonal skills.
