My name is Isabel and I am an LA-based violinist and educator from Venezuela. I have been a violinist for over 20 years, teaching music (violin) for over 14 years, and working with students of all ages, including adults. I've had the honor to perform in an array of halls from the White House, and Staples Center to the Carnegie Hall and Concertgebouw. Some of my recent teaching experience includes teaching strings for the Orange Unified School District, teaching violin, viola, and coaching orchestra and chamber music with YOLA Harmony Project.
I like to use new methods and alternatives techniques of teachings like Dalcroze and improvisation methods, and want to give my students the solid technical skills that the traditional methods do while breaking the walls that keep students from truly exploring all the musical possibilities available. Solid technical skills plus a visionary mind are the perfect recipe for an all-rounded musician! I also feel very comfortable teaching all aspects of music. I find great pleasure in teaching because I love connecting with my students and seeing them succeed. I believe that the key to good teaching is getting to know well your student so that you can guide them in a self-discovery process while having fun. In my free time, I love hiking, dancing, working out- mostly yoga and cooking.
