Polyurethane Ball Post Top Post Finials are “foam plastic” moldings that are cast in a mold. The result is a beautiful architectural detail that closely mimics the look and feel of wood. The replacement ball top finial will not rot or crack. It also allows for very large round ball tops at a reasonable cost when compared to large wood ball tops.
Attach your ball top finials to a flat newel post cap with a Polyurethane adhesive such as PL Premium or Gorilla Glue. Some installers may choose to use a dowel screw (double ended lag screw), but it is not necessary.
Outdoor ball top finials make a nice topper for either Polyurethane or Wood Newel Posts and Caps.
