Office Assistant/Title Clerk (Downtown Silver Spring, MD)

compensation: Based on experience
employment type: full-time

This is a customer service-based position that directly assists clients with tag and title needs. It also requires, but is not limited to, basic office duties, such as filing, and scanning. You will not answer phones.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides direct customer service
- Provides email customer service
- Completes forms and title documents
- Keeps office and paperwork organized
- Scans and files documents
- Reviews and corrects completed transactions
- Writes notes and maintains detailed communications with co-workers and management
- Performs minor cleaning of office area and personal spaces
- Checks through completed transactions and/or pending transaction files, and contacts clients as reminders.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Google Docs.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses:
Ability to pass MVA criminal background check

Basic computer knowledge
Professional and courteous demeanor
Possess good oral and written communication skills

Ability to work in a sometimes fast-paced environment
