Location: Washington, DC • Maryland • Northern Virginia (travel across DMV)
What you’ll do
Perform on-site “smart hands” tasks: rack & stack, device swaps, AP & switch installs, demarc/circuit testing, site surveys.
Structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6), labeling, testing, and documentation.
Support POS/retail environments and conference room/AV setups.
Close tickets with clear notes, photos, and customer sign-off.
Must-haves
Clean background and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Valid driver’s license + insured, reliable vehicle
Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, VLAN concepts)
2 years of college IT or equivalent hands-on field experience
Your own tools (punchdown, crimper, toner/probe, labeler, drill/driver; ladder access)
Smartphone for check-in/out, photos, and apps (WorkMarket/Field Nation, etc.)
Nice-to-haves
Structured cabling certification, OSHA-10, low-voltage permit familiarity
CCTV & access control installs, POS, data center remote hands
Engagement & pay
1099 contract. Dispatch-based work with weekday and occasional after-hours windows.
Competitive hourly/per-ticket rates; differentials for nights/weekends/urgent calls.
Weekly ACH payments upon approved deliverables.
