Leidos’ Defense is seeking a Informion Junior Linux System Administror to join our team our Bowie, MD office.

The candide will be part of a IT team responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, configurion management, monitoring, and troubleshooting of an expanding wide area network supporting a multi-site secure network. The work to be performed will require th the candide be able to work comfortably several levels of support from supporting IT system administrion tickets from installion, configurion, and troubleshooting of Linux workstions to servers’ equipment. Provide updes to the IT Manager and ISSM for stregic planning purposes. 

Projects and tasks will be assigned and times self-initied requiring independent judgement in balancing of resources, schedules, work hours, as well as travel to regional sites to obtain results. Work will require ability to manage the risk for PC workstions and peripherals, and ancillary equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

The selected individual will be responsible for performing daily Linux system administrion and O&M support activities in support of a local area network and wide area network environments. The position entails the daily sustainment of existing Linux computers and servers, with a particular focus on the set-up and maintenance. Will be responsible for monitoring infrastructure systems, applicions, and processes, and for ensuring th all issues are identified, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner. He/she will provide support for all infrastructure systems and will respond to hardware and software incidents impacting local users as well as working with and taking directions from senior system administrors, times working with them remotely from other locions.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Configurion, setup and maintenance of numerous air-gapped Informion Systems (IS) and networks 
• User account management, administrion, access/controls and support.
• Installion, configurion, and management of servers and performance.
• Client-server support, Linux software packages and hardware upgrades.
• Provide regression testing on new software releases.
• Secure and maintain all components IAW established Security Technical Implemention Guides (STIG) and customer directives 
• Verify and maintain security configurion of the multiple Informion Systems 
• Pch and anti-virus definition management 
• Manage daily break/fix scenarios, updes, backups, monitoring and user management 
• Hardware troubleshooting (COTS PC, printer, networks, and encryption hardware) 
• Monitor IT tickets and tasking to ensure requirements are addressed in a timely manner according to priority 
• Developing/documenting standard opering procedures.
• Endpoint Protection within Linux environment
• Strong desire to adhere to best practices and provide the highest quality of service and support

Basic Qualificions:

• Bachelors’ degree and 0-4 years of experience, Associe degree and 6-8 years or High School diploma and 8 or more years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Able to obtain within 6 months DoD 8140/8570 compliant IA certificion for IAT II  (Security+ CE or higher)
• Hands-on experience in Linux Server and workstion environments.
• Demonstred understanding in the design, implemention, and sustainment of Virtualized Machine (VM) architecture 
• Demonstred understanding of system configurion and apply security controls under Risk Management Framework.
• Demonstred understanding of computer network concepts (network hardware, cable management, IP address management).
• Working knowledge of Windows opering systems.
• Excellent customer service skills and clear communicions both written and oral 
• Comfortable working in an environment without immedie supervision 
• Ability and willingness to work onsite in Bowie Maryland
• Active and current DoD Secret clearance. (U.S. citizenship is required)

Preferred Qualificions:

• Understanding of Linux software.
• Understanding of Risk Management Framework.
