This is a furnished room in a house. As you can verify from the pictures, it has a dresser, desk, chair, queen-sized bed with internal storage, steel reinforced bookcase, shower, bath, and toilet. It can be configured with an ensuite private bathroom (the more expensive option shown) or a shared one (this is the $750 price). You’d have complete access to the common areas like the kitchen and other rooms in the house. Most of the pictures were taken on Aug. 10, 2025 and there's a video of the space as well.
LOCATION: Wheaton metro is a 12-minute walk. Wheaton Mall is a 7 minute walk. Union Station, in downtown DC, is a 22-minute metro ride. CUA is half that distance. NIH/Water Reed are 11-minute drives or 15-minute bus rides via RideOn 34. FDA is rumored to be around here somewhere but I’ve yet to see it. The crimegrade site claims we are A+ (the safest possible). The violent crime rates are ~1/7th those of DC.
LEASE: Both long and short-term stays work for us. Many shared living options utilize month-to-month setup in which the lease ends when the tenant gives 30 days notice. Our's is similar to that, except it's a only two-week time period even though the median tenancy duration is close to a year. So, for example, if you needed to be in the DMV for one year, you could sign our lease but you'd still retain the option to leave much earlier without paying any penalty. The idea is to reduce risk, and make it closer to a win-win contract, since, by default leases tend to favor landlords. (We prefer a more democratic atmosphere.)
Price doesn't include utilities. Due to one of our employers, there's no smoking, we aren't 410 friendly, and we can't accept non-US citizens. Sorry.
If interested, let us know. Voice calls will get the fastest response, and if we get an inquiry, we'll reply. (If you don't hear back hit up another modality of the three offered here.) Final decisions on candidates take less than 24 hours.
