IF THIS OFFER IS STILL POSTED on Craigslist then it is still for sale and I may not respond to requests like "Is it still for sale".
Released in 1986 as part of the Santa Fe Work Train Service Station Special. Until 1986 this was the only work caboose that Lionel equipped with Standard "O" sprung trucks. They have functional springs in them. This caboose has working magnetic couplers front and back. It is also the only red work caboose that has the square (as opposed to round) A.T.S.F. emblem on the cab. It is a hard to find item in excellent condition like this one.
Payment: cash only in USD or pre-1965 US silver coins (dimes, quarters, halves, dollars) totaling 90 cents face value.
Minimally run, this car is in pristine condition. There are no missing parts or damage and there is no rust anywhere. The original box is included. Like all Craigslist auctions, you get to examine this offering at the point of sale before you buy to ensure you are happy with it. May you be the lucky winner, and,
Happy Railroading,
Al
PS: To buy (from online postwar train parts suppliers) just one new pair of the Lionel Standard "O" sprung trucks, identical to the ones on this caboose, you are looking at around $40. Including shipping, you can expect about $30 per pair on Ebay.
