Interstate Enterprises, Inc. in Fairfax, Virginia, is seeking a qualified Bookkeeper/Customer Service Representative to provide customer service, bookkeeping and general office support to Interstate's customer base. Interstate Enterprises is an irrigation, lighting and plumbing firm that provides service to the Northern Virginia, Maryland and DC area. Full time hours are 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday. Part-time hours are negotiable. Candidates for this position must be able to work independently and have an understanding of customer service and bookkeeping principles.

Bookkeeping Responsibilities
• Enter and manage Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable in QuickBooks
• Reconcile monthly bank and credit statements
• Keep track of billable expenses
• Prepare monthly invoices
• Process payroll
• Maintain a schedule for regular bills and ensure timely payment
• File all receipts and invoices/ maintain records of all financial transactions
• Assist accounting firm with reconciliation of accounts
• Provide administrative support for the office, including photocopying, mail, files, IT and organizational support
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Must understand principles of great Customer Service
• Ability to handle company and customer information with sensitivity and discretion
• Must understand principles of financial bookkeeping
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office... specially Excel and Word
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines with minimal supervision
• Ability to work both independently and in a team
• Ability to manage email
• Ability to schedule appointments and manage automated scheduling.
• The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Professional phone manner
