Beautiful Large Copper Victorian Antique Streetlamp or Street Lantern
Dating from the late Victorian period, this gorgeous antique English street lantern was once lit by gas. Circa 1890-1900, manufactured by Foster & Pullen Limited Avil Works in Bradford, England.
This family heirloom has been lovingly cared for and displayed in a clean and smoke-free home for decades. It could look beautiful with just a candle or light at the base. No glass; some dints, dents and damage are commensurate with its age. Hinged front and top portions open and close for access and maintenance. It has not been tested or converted to electric.
This stunning copper lantern measures approximately 18 inches across by 38 inches in height.
Foster & Pullen of the Avil Works in Bradford were foremost amongst lantern makers and were still manufacturing street lanterns and other forms of lighting into the mid 20th Century.
