Antique leather Italian desk accessory set, including blotter, rolling blotter, notebook, storage box, checkbook, and inkwell/calendar unit (naturally, the months are in Italian).

Approximately 100-years old, made in Rome, Italy. This rare and complete set was used at the American legation/embassy in Italy. The leather is in amazing condition, especially considering its age....the blotter is reversible, with its red leather cover on one side and blotter paper on the other side. The inkwell was designed for dip pens, when you're signing off on a treaty. The checkbook may not be original to the set, but the coloring and embossing is a very close match.

The photos really don't do this desk set justice. The colors are much more vibrant in person.
