SUMMARY:

A Sales Representative/Account Executive’s job necessitates determining, generating and capturing sales outside the organization. The Sales Representative/Account Executive is responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships with customers on behalf of Residential Design Services. In addition, actively prospecting for new accounts and maximizing sales potential with existing customers. Serves customers by selling products and meeting the customer’s needs. Also, builds business by prospecting and maintaining relationships with clients.


POSITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their service needs.
 Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
 Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications: establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies (i.e. attending industry related functions – BIA & SMC events.
 Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Services existing accounts and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers.
 Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly/annual territory analyses.
 Works closely with Sales Administration and Estimating Teams to clarify and confirm customer specification and scopes throughout bid process.
 Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, merchandising techniques, etc.
 Maintain builder programs and sample boards
 Compare material costs and unit cost to adequately accommodate customer needs
 Manage new and discontinued product placements/replacements
 Follow market trends and relay information to builders
 Meet with designers and purchasing managers to evaluate builder and end customer needs
 Any other task needed to adequately accommodate builder needs

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• BS or BA degree or equivalent.
• 5 year minimum industry experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers whose first language is English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is required to have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to make sales calls.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Office environment and traveling to and from businesses.
• Prolonged sitting in car or office.
