This light blue/aquamarine piece of Smithsonite weighs 24 grams and comes from Kelly Mine near Magdalena, New Mexico. It is a unique mineral specimen that comes with a detailed description from the mine as follows:
A zinc carbonate ZnC03, carbon dioxide is 35.2% and zinc protoxide 64.8%. Fracture is uneven to imperfectly conchoidal. Brittle. The hardness is about 5.5 and the specific gravity 4.3 to 4.45. Luster is vitreous to pearly. Streak is white.
