For sale is a 1940s CLUCKING EGG LAYING TOY HEN from the Baldwin Manufacturing Company Inc, Brooklyn, NY. This unusual mechanical tin toy features a hen sitting on a nest. When you turn the crank handle, the hen makes a crackling noise while laying an egg. The toy's original eggs are missing but the hen still cackles loudly. The toy is marked with patent No 2,151,330 which was granted in 1938. The lithographic toy measures about 2 inches wide, 5 inches long, and 4 3/4 inches tall. A great collectible toy.
