The candle holders are 11 1/2" tall, and made of a dark type of hard wood that is possibly ebony or ironwood. To be used for tapered candles, and the diameter for the candle holder section is 1/ 1/4", and the depth is 5/8" approximately. Good condition with some minor imperfections in the carvings, and there is a chip and a split in the wood at the left front hoof area of one candle holder.
