The last of this 3rd generation ( Foxbody ) the pony car built on the lightweight "Fox" unibody platform,
By 1994 mustang changed to the newer version that everybody has one or two.
1993 Mustang LX convertible
NEW Soft top, with liner (so is more insulation when the top gets hot or cold)
With back glass (not the clear plastic that folds and shrinks, ugh)
All original stock, even the stereo “I have worked on it”
odometer reads 48K miles (but this roll-over, so it 148K)
The LX comes with the top end options for that year,
Cruise control,
Electric windows (4)
Electric locks,
Electric mirrors,
Electric trunk release
I even like the classic look of the rack on top of the trunk.
by 1992 Four-cylinder engines jumped from 88 to 105 horsepower; helped by two spark plugs per cylinder
Engine: 2.3-liter 4-cylinder
Torque: 135
Transmission: 4-speed automatic
EPA city/highway: 22/29
the back seats improved to shoulder-straps
I have driven this car only 15K miles since 2009, I got it when the odometer displayed 33K miles,
+NEW SOFT TOP LAST YEAR, professionally installed,
+NEW SPARK PLUGS,
+NEW CABLES,
+NEW COILS,
+NEW ECM electronic control module,
+NEW AIR MASS FLOW SENSOR,
+NEW BELT,
+NEW TENSIONER,
+NEW ALTERNATOR,
+NEW HOOD RELEASE CABLE,
+NEW STARTER
engine flush,
oil change,
cooling system + radiator flush,
transmission flush,
new Brake pads and rotors in the front,
new shoes and drums in the back,
and more, I’ll have to find the receipts,
plus on the cosmetic side I got and changed some malfunctioning/missing parts
OEM clear (not yellowing) headlights and side lights
OEM mirror with the map lights,
Aftermarket metal (not plastic) armrest lid
OEM center armrest cushion
OEM metal (not plastic) ashtray lid for center console,
OEM mirrors switch,
OEM lock actuators,
OEM spare tire holder,
OEM bezels on interior door handles,
OEM ashtray
OEM sun visors (mine where puffy)
And recently I replaced the motor for one power window that was running slow.
upgraded the gas lid with the electrical lock that I got from another mustang.
The only “not original” are the set of wheels; I changed those ugly rubber ones to
Chrome Cobra 5 spoke 16” rims,
Z rated tires Michelin XGT Z4 (P225/55/R16) on the back, and slimmer kumho on the front,
With chrome lugs + locks
And I replaced the sagging door pockets/bags with solid plastic door pockets
You can get a mustang for under 3K, but then, have to do all this or worse.
still its not in showroom condition, there is still room for improvement, clear-coat peeling, driver door hangs a little, back passenger window needs the rubbers inside the clutch/gears replaced, etc.
if you want it cheaper, just bring your set of wheels and I sell mines in a snap! for 600$
I have to many cars and trucks now, and not enough time to drive this one, thus the battery died and I don't know if it will hold a charge, it will start with a jumpstasrter.
parked inside garage and under layered breathable car cover.
not in a hurry to sell, no unreasonable offers please.
Thanks,
Alex in Fairfax VA
P.S. the pictures were taken in different dates and show progress on the looks,
like the one in Shenandoah still shows the yellowing headlights and the others in the park show the ugly wheels,
