Salary: $95,000–$115,000 per year

A private family in McLean, VA is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Housekeeper to join their team. The home is approximately 16,000 sq. ft. and serves as a secondary residence, used roughly eight days per month. This position requires a polished professional who is proactive, organized, and capable of maintaining the highest standards of service and cleanliness.
The Lead Housekeeper will work closely with the House Manager/Chef and will be responsible for overseeing and delegating tasks to a junior housekeeper. This role calls for someone with exceptional knowledge of fine home care, including laundry and wardrobe management, care of fine fabrics, silver, china, art, and furnishings. The ideal candidate has prior experience in UHNW households and can anticipate needs in a quiet, refined environment.
Responsibilities include:
Leading and training a junior housekeeper, delegating daily and deep-cleaning tasks
Maintaining the highest cleaning and organizational standards throughout the property
Caring for luxury materials, fine furnishings, antiques, and art
Assisting with errands and household projects as needed
Providing light support in the kitchen for breakfast or small dinner service when principals are in residence
Supporting the household during entertaining and events
Adjusting to an early-morning schedule when the principals are on site (as early as 6:00 AM)
Key Qualifications:
Prior experience in formal or UHNW homes required
Excellent command of English
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Flexible and dependable, with a calm, quiet demeanor and ability to “read the room”
Experience in light service or assisting in the kitchen preferred
Basic cooking skills a plus
