These are two (2) Niles Audio IR repeater systems. Selling each for $25 or both for $40. Each system consists of one (1) Main System Unit (MSU140), one (1) IR sensor and two (2) “flashers”, one (1) 12VDC power supply, and instructions.
The IR sensor is placed where your remote can “see” it (near the bottom edge of TV works well) and is attached via a thin wire (6’ long) to the MSU. The flashers (also 6’ long) run from the MSU to the A/V component you’re controlling. The head of the flasher is simply taped to the IR sensor on the component you want to control. I’ve used this set-up with great success for many years to control a STB, BD player, and Apple TV all stowed out of view in a cabinet under my TV.
These systems give you the ability to conceal, yet still control, bulky electronic equipment such as a cable or satellite TV receiver, stereo receiver or amplifier, CD player, DVD player, Blu-ray disk player, or virtually any component controlled by an IR signal. Note, however, that you still need to connect the components to your TV-- if we’re talking about STBs and BD players! But using these remote controllers will make that job infinitely easier!
