Netgear designed this modem as DOCSIS 3.0 with the hope of possible, estimated, max Cable Internet Speeds of (theoretically) up to 680 meg (mbps). However, in the real world, actual speeds attained may be 150, 200 or 400 meg (depending on your ISP).
Speed ratings like this, however, on ALL brands of modems are theoretical, to state an idealistic, possible maximum download speed. In real use, actual speeds homeowners may get with ANY modem will be less than the max number.
