Beautiful set of Meissen teacup and saucer with hand painted flowers, most likely dated 19th, or early 20th century. The teacup and saucer feature scalloped rims and hand painted flowers over white porcelain. Both pieces show the Meissen blue under-glaze cross-swords logo . Notably, the Meissen cross-swords shown at the bottom have heavy endings at the tip of the handles, and from my research, a mark that appeared from 1815 to 1924 and helped dating the pieces.
Meissen porcelain was started in Dresden, Germany in 1709 to produce the first European hard-paste porcelain at high temperature. Its crossed-swords logo was introduced in 1720 and evolved during different periods. Over 300 years of existence, Meissen is known for high quality and originality till today.
