The "social distancing" is our new way of life right now. Implemented as a preventive measure, designed to stop the spread of COVID-19 virus, it has changed the ways we do everything, from work to leisure. The same can be said about music, art studies and all other educational activities.
My name is Dr. Edvinas Minkstimas, I am a Steinway Artist and a winner of international piano competitions. Realizing that many of you cannot continue your usual music and arts studies in schools and teacher's studios, I am now offering discounted online piano lessons and expert guidance for aspiring young musicians and serious adult students, who seek to perfect their technique, expand the repertoire, deepen their understanding of music and structure of musical compositions.
Currently I serve as the director of The European Academy of Arts in Northern Virginia, and maintain two private studios, one in Chantilly, and another in Bethesda. Previously I have completed both Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music Degrees at the Juilliard School (studio of prof. Jerome Lowenthal) and the Artist Diploma studies at the Paris Conservatory(studio of prof. Michel Beroff). I have served as Chair of Piano Department at the Washington Conservatory of Music and as Artist-in-Residence of the Embassy Series and the Phillips Collection Music Series in Washington, D.C.
My solo performances took me to some of the world's leading venues, such as the Carnegie and Weill Recital Halls, Alice Tully Hall, The Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Salle Gaveau, Salle Pleyel and Cite de la Musique in Paris, Dag Hammarskjold auditorium at the United Nations, among other.
My experience will help students prepare for auditions and regional, state, national and international competitions. I serve as a jury member for competitions of all levels and is thoroughly familiar with the challenges every aspiring competitor faces today.
I am expertly trained in music theory, analysis, history and composition. I apply the knowledge of these subjects to provide a comprehensive musical education for every student.
All student inquiries are welcome and first lesson is free of charge, but the availability is limited and every student will be asked to audition during the first lesson. Based on the prospective students' needs and skills, I shall suggest a study course, which includes technical, sight-reading exercises, homework assignments and music to study.
You are welcome to submit your inquiries either by responding to this add, or by phone at (202) 360-2148.
